Welcome to Sundale

History
ince 1958, and through many changes and adjustments, Sundale Nursing Home has continued to provide quality care and maintain a "Tradition of Caring."

In 1958, Sundale was originally established by the Monongalia County Commission as a non-profit organization to care for the elderly and named Sundale Rest Home. The original home was located in an older home on Van Voorhis Road, where the Monongalia Home Corporation was established to oversee the operation.

Sundale Nursing Home is a newly remodeled 120 bed facility located on J.D. Anderson Drive in Morgantown. Staff have an ultimate goal of returning as many residents to the community as possible. For those residents unable to return to the community, Sundale is dedicated to maintaining them at their highest level of functioning.

Using an interdisciplinary team approach, Sundale provides a wide variety of services that normally are not recognized by individuals who have not been involved in the facility. Administrative staff, attending physicians, nurses, social workers, a dietary manager, activities director, restorative nursing staff and rehabilitative services all work together to develop an individual treatment plan for Sundale residents.

In order to carry out those treatment plans, a wide range of services have been developed.
Those include:

• Therapeutic diets.

• Private/semi-private rooms; each room is equipped with a
restroom and heat/air conditioning system. Cable TV and
in room personal telephone are available.

• Daily social and recreational activities, which include activity
staff on duty 24hrs per day 7 days per week.

• Psychosocial needs are monitored and addressed as needed.

• Qualified nursing staff 24hrs per day.

• Physical Therapy

• Occupational Therapy

• Speech Therapy

• IV Therapy

• Wheelchair accessible van available to transport residents
to important events (outings, appointments, etc.)

• Scenic courtyard with gazebo.

• Computerized billing.

• Financial advisors.

• Beauty and barber services.

Certainly all of these services and capabilities comprise a very impressive list. All will be made even more impressive when viewed in action at the facility. We encourage interested individuals to call 304-599-0497 for more information or stop by to see and witness for themselves our "Tradition of Caring."
